Well like in my last post "Why Videography?" you already know that I got in to video first. So my tagline of Capture the Moment comes in two parts for me. One being capturing the live action, but also capturing a still is something that also speaks to me.
So I began photography in college, but I have always liked taking photos just for fun and not focused on the message and the style. Once I learned about how to take a photo and everything that goes into photography I am not going to lie my focus really changed. I began just going and taking so many photos and just taught myself more and kept trying new things until I found the look that I like. I find photography to be a fun creative outlet that lets me escape, I also have found it to be a challenge when it comes to learning the skill when you have never done it before. My best advise that I give to new creators is that it is all about trial and error. Reason I say that is because that is really all it is. You can go to the best school or take the best online course, but when it comes down to it, it really is all about finding the style that works best for you (and trust me your style will change as you grow and do more work).
One thing that I have learned a lot in the most recent years of doing photography is that once you find a style that you like….. You should always fine tune it and learn from it and always try new things. That is where I am currently at is I have a few different styles that I like and I am trying to play with them a bit to see what kind of look I want to show in my photos.
